What a beauty

The number of motorised treasures continues to rise.  Due to appear in an article in the Stop Message magazine is this beauty.  I've only shown a small portion of it to protect its full identity, and that of its owner, until the publication of the magazine, but this should be enough to whet the appetite.

-oooOOooo-

John Lacey is apparently not the only PMA member to have dark secrets lurking in their garage.  Phil (Cris) Crisford has recently written in to tell us about the kit car that he built.  A two seater sports model it's called a Jester but he says that building it was no joke!  Phil's report about the car will feature as an article in the next copy of the Stop Message magazine due out at the end of January 2010, so keep your eyes open for it in the New Year.  In the meantime we'll publish a little more information over the next week or two so come back and have a sneak preview.

Well, as promised, here's a little sneak preview of Phil's car otherwise known as the Jester.

Click here to read the report from John (Joe) Lacey about his annual pilgrimage to the 2009 Le-Mans 24 hour motor race.  Apologies Joe for not publishing sooner.

John Lacey has written in to us to share with other association members his interest in classic sports cars.  Indeed John is the proud owner of a 1994 Maserati Ghibli ABS, a 2 Litre V6 twin turbo producing 306bhp, which is still capable of attaining 160mph and will get to the magic 60mph in around 5.1 seconds.

On 9th June 2009 John will embark, with the car, on a pilgrimage to Le-Mans for the annual running of the world famous 24 hour race.  From his home in Portsmouth to Le-Mans in France is a distance of 269 miles which according to the performance figures John has provided he could get there in a little under 2 hours! We suspect though that there will be a number of stopovers that will cause the journey to be more like the 6 hours 30 minutes suggested by Google.  We wish John well and are hopeful that he will write us an article for the HFRSPMA magazine following his trip.

Various shots of the car are shown here.

If you share John's interest in classic sports cars, or any other automotive type, and want to send in pictures of your 'pride and joy' feel free to do so by writing to webmaster@xhfrs.org.uk and we will share them with others who visit this site.
